The parity commissions

PUBLICA is a collective institution with eleven open pension plans. Each plan is run by a parity commission. Parity is a central principle in occupational pensions. It means that the social partners jointly organise, implement and oversee pension provision. Parity is secured by ensuring that the commission has an equal number of representatives of the employees and employers.

PUBLICA’s pension plans

PUBLICA is organised as a collective institution. That means that all active members and pension recipients from the Federal Administration, the ETH Domain and other decentralised administrative units as well as organisations that are closely associated with the Confederation or fulfil a public task on behalf of the Confederation, a canton or a commune belong to one of 11 pension plans. Each plan is organisationally and economically independent, with different interest rates and savings contributions, for example.
